Rebecca Haydock, Fine Art selects a limited number of works for premium quality giclèe production. Giclèes are Artist supervised reproductions of work on stretched cotton canvases, or watercolor paper. Giclèes differ from traditional prints in the process, materials, and technique. Giclèe inks are pigment-based, making the prints the closest possible replication of a painting other than copying by hand. Traditional printing inks are dye-based and are more inclined to fade. Giclèe ink has an extended staying capacity of up to 200 years. Using an ink called Vivera, a giclèe printer will lay down ink on canvas, replicating the finest of brushstrokes. Because the printer is able to understand and translate exceptional quantities of data, fine detail can be achieved, with no pixilation or digital flaws.
Rebecca Haydock, Fine Art works exclusively with Staples Fine Art Heritage Giclèe, which in turn produces for The National Gallery in London and National Audobon Society, among many others. All Rebecca Haydock giclèes are limited edition of 150 or less. If the giclèe does not look identical to the original standing 24” away, it will not be offered.
